Permaculture and Cannabis at Willow Crossing Farm

Permaculture and Cannabis at Willow Crossing

Greetings friends and happy February! As we turn the corner towards longer days, the scent of spring is in the air and seeds are being sown. 🌱🌿

Apologies we haven’t been on the computer much at all this winter- and the website is almost entirely out of date at this point. We’re in the process of a total re-launch and update, and welcome feedback or consultation from any folks in our network who are particularly web-savvy. We’re also eager for more testimonials from students; nursery customers; herbalists using our plant medicines; and attendees of concerts, retreats, or other events- please feel free to share your positive experiences with us directly or via reviews on google or facebook pages! Lastly- we’re always interested in great photos of your designs, design implementations, or from events on the farm (or elsewhere).

As most of you know, CBD hemp has taken a central role in our medicinal herb production the past few years. We’re excited and honored that our pioneering work is being recognized, and we have been working closely with Vermont’s Agency of Agriculture in providing education to farmers, processors, and patients, and now most recently with US Congressman Peter Welch with the federal legalization of hemp and CBD in the 2018 Farm Bill.

In keeping with our original mission and vision- we continue to advocate for how hemp can be produced with zero-minimal tillage (zero tillage for all 2018 field production!); used to sequester atmoshperic carbon; create habitiat; protect our rivers, lakes, and streams; and contribute to farmland preservation and economic viability.

I’ll be sharing our successes and other lessons and advocating for the potential for Regenerative Cannabis at the following upcoming events:

Friday February 8: UVM Hemp Conference. Hilton, Burlington, VT

CONFERENCE FULL LIVESTREAM HERE

Wednesday February 13: Cannabis in the Capitol. Vermont State House, Montpelier, VT.

Saturday March 16: 17th Annual NOFA NH Winter Conference, Concord, NH

March 22-24: The Science of Organic Regenerative Cannabis Cultivation Conference. Ann Arbor, MI

Please call or email to express interest and reserve your space or plants. There will be a limited number of giant (8’+), well-branched seedling plums, pears, and Antanovka apples available, as well as a limited quantity of some 8-10’ Pine Nut Trees. As always, we will have an incredible diversity of other fruits, nuts, berries, and vines. We will also offer state licensed high CBD hemp starts, and adult-use cannabis propagation services (maximum 6 plants).

2019 dates for our PermaCannaCulture residential intensive cannabis camp will be announced soon! We’ll also be hosting our favorite herbalists for a MEDICINE MAKING SERIES!

The 12th annual Permaculture Design Certification Course will be July 21- August 2, and registration is open! We are proud to offer full scholarships to income-eligible Vermont state residents.

We have a few concerts and mini-festivals in the works… stay tuned!
