      Hi,

      Thanks for writing. Our ‘farm and nature immersion’ residential PDC is scheduled for July 15-July17, 2012. Details will be posted soon, but please email to get on the waiting list. We also offer a semester format PDC through the University of Vermont Ecological Design program (open to non-matriculated students)

    I follow an Heirloom fruit group which forwarded me into on this Sundays’ (Feb 24’13) workshop on pruning. I am writing in hopes that I might still be able to register for the event. I have a good deal of experience in horticulture , and hope I can take part.
    Would have to get there form here(NYC) and would be willing to drive others or ride with others, or find out what kind of transportation options there might be ,i.e. bus to nearby town hike(hitch?) from there.

      Hi Edward-

      Thanks for writing. It would be great to have you come up if you really want to make the trip, although it is pretty far for a one day workshop. If you interest is more for purposes of seeing the trees, etc. The St. Patrick’s Day party/ grafting workshop may be more worth the trip, or an event with warmer weather to camp out, see the flowers, etc.

      I debated promoting this event on the NYC Permaculture Meetup Group, but decided not to. If you announced it there (with your offer of a ride/ rideshare), I imagine you may find some folks interested in making the trip with you.

      Otherwise, there is public transportation to Burlington or Montpelier, or train to Essex, where we could connect you with someone else heading to the workshop Sunday morning.

    Keith, Got both replies and may wait joining this weekend’s doings , did not know of the local perma -culture group good resource to know , thank you for letting me know,
    The day will be fine I trust and whether I am there or not ,best wishes for all involved, a good (somewhat) old fashioned Winter continues its course and that bodes well . My interest is to learn to live in this world as fully and masterfully and joyfully as I may and it just turns out that plants, and farming, are there among the sense of place I seek . It has been a pleasure reaching out this way,(not a media maven here by a long shot) and will be here .
